This unit was advertised as a being made of metal and its not . It’s made of plastic. I bought these as the other version from 3M with hand brake and rated as a medium duty dispenser (also made of plastic) broke in half. This unit is heavier and seems better reinforced for handling filament tape which is what we use it for everyday as we ship a lot of cartons. We’ll see if this holds up better than the other. The drop down head design does offer better ergonomics for cutting the tape. The single biggest complaint I have is the outrageous prices some places charge for these units. This was the best priced place I found but even at these prices I feel the unit is way overpriced being made of plastic. If it holds up to heavy duty use as it is rated then It will be worth it but that still remains to be seen.
