GLOUCESTER triathlete Gary Holland hopes to capitalise on his competitive streak to take him to the top of the business league.
Gary,
who has competed in some of the UK’s toughest endurance triathlons,
admits he likes a challenge and is fiercely competitive.
He
is confident that these qualities will reap dividends as he invests
£40,000 in setting up his new business for Europe’s leading supplier of
cleaning and hygiene products, Chemex International.
“Once
you commit to a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a full marathon
you need stamina and a competitive edge to get you over the finish
line,” said Gary, who runs more than 140 miles a week.
“When
I first started out 16 years ago, I could barely swim but I like a
challenge. Now I have set myself a target for the business, I have
invested more than £40,000, and I will do everything I can to achieve
success,” said Gary, who has 30 year’s sales experience, 13 with the
John Lewis Partnership.
Gary’s
franchise for Chemex International franchise will provide consultancy,
training and hygiene solutions to businesses in Cheltenham and
Gloucester preventing them from falling foul of the ever-tightening
health, and safety and hygiene rules.
“I
want to help local clubs, pubs, restaurants, hotels and care homes to
negotiate the ever-changing requirements that are part of food
hygiene.” said Gary whose business is based at Barnwood Point,
Gloucester.
“By
giving my customers practical advice on problem areas in the kitchen
and serving areas, I can help to give them peace of mind,” he said.
“I
can take the headache out of the compliance procedures so that they can
concentrate on running their business and looking after their customers.
“It
is that confidence within today’s maze of ever-tightening regulations
for food production that is valued by customers whether they are a chef
in a burger bar or a superchef in a Michelin-starred restaurant.”
