About Chemex Doncaster

Latest News - 20th August 2009 - We are expanding!

The Doncaster franchise of Chemex International is defying the recession by launching two new service centres in East Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.

The franchise, which supplies cleaning and hygiene products and provides free consultancy as well as health and safety and hygiene training, has grown rapidly since being taken on by former mining mechanical engineer John Heslop nine years ago.

Now the business has opened a new service centre in Hull in addition to new regional offices in Sheffield.

Mr Heslop said:"Although times are hard for many businesses there are tremendous opportunities in Hull and East Yorkshire for our products.

"Our business is about as recession proof as you can get as the service and products we provide are seen as necessities and not luxuries by our customers.

Keith Nutton, who joined as business partner three years ago, said that the business was responding to customer needs.

"We have responded to this demand and provide a specialized service offering free on-site surveys as well as advice and training in health and hygiene control and we design a package to suit an individual company's needs," he said.

Company History

Back in August 2000 the business covered Doncaster, Bawtry, Tickhill, Thorne, Epworth, Selby, Howden and Goole. A further territory was added to the business in May 2002 which extended operations to include Sheffield, Chapletown, Penistone and Castleton.

The business has gone from strength to strength in recent years with John's brother Peter helping to put a second vehicle on the road in 2003. Keith Nutton joined as co-director in November 2003 and a 3rd mobile showroom was added to compliment the existing vehicles. In 2007 the company expanded further to cover Hull, Brough, Cottingham, Beverley, Driffield, Malton, Hornsea, Bridlington and Scarborough.

The Chemex operation are members of the local chamber of commerce and plan to have a 4th showroom and a further employee by May 2008. This will co-incide with the planned move to larger and more suitable premises on an industrial business park in Selby.
